Shane Micheal Lamotte

Shane Micheal Lamotte, Born April 30th, 1984

Since birth, Shane has always been intuitively drawn to music. At age 6, he began learning piano and performing at recitals regularly. As he grew older and his musical interests expanded he began learning saxophone and many other instruments. However, he found his true passion when he picked up his first guitar at age 13.

Throughout High School, Shane was extensively involved in music, both with his guitar (jazz) and saxophone (classical). His musical abilities led him to perform at Music Fest Canada on multiple occasions.

In the beginning of the new millennium, at age 16, Shane began writing and composing music of his own. This led to the organization and development of his own rock band. For the next 2 years his band performed on many occasions including a concert that he organized and coordinated.

After graduation at age 18, Shane’s band went there separate ways, yet he decided to follow his musical intuition and move to Edmonton Alberta to collaborate, compose and record an album with his brother Jason under the band name Living Illusion.

In December of 2002 the first step of this musical journey came together when Shane & Jason were introduced to Owensound Studios and began recording there self titled album.

Throughout 2003 – 2005 Shane had the opportunity to work with Lyle Molzan (Drummer for Jann Arden) while recording, co-engineering and co-producing the first Living Illusion album which was completed in spring 2005.

Currently, age 21, Shane is writing and recording new compositions with Brother Jason Lamotte while performing live shows and marketing their new CD.
